As the largest integrated tire manufacturer in ASEAN, PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk cared for the development of public facilities that are safe and friendly for children. As Part of our Corporate Social Responsibilities, PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk supported the endeavor of the Government of DKI Jakarta to provide a Children Friendly Open Public Space (Ruang Publik Terpadu Ramah Anak – RPTRA) by developing the RPTRA Kembangan which is located in Kembangan Utara area in the West Jakarta municipality. Together with the Government of DKI Jakarta, PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk inaugurated the RPTRA named as RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal on the 5th of June 2015.
For PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk, the development of RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that can be utilized directly by the people and the children in the surrounding Kembangan Utara area.
The development of this RPTRA is actually the realization of the Government of DKI Jakarta’s program to make the city as children friendly in line with the policy from the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Children Protection Number 12 issued in 2010. RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal is one of 6 pilot locations in DKI Jakarta, projected to be the children friendly open public space and the center of activities for the community where they can gather together to discuss and to resolve the daily issues faced by the people there.
RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal is divided into several sections, namely children park, 100 m2 football field, jogging track, children playground and a 8x21 m2 children friendly multi functions building. The RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal later on should be utilized as the training center for various activities that will benefit the people in the area.
“Besides creating open space playground which is safe for children, RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal can also be used to do the people empowering activities, especially the women in the area and the introduction of safety driving and safety riding campaigns, which have been conducted by the company through GT Radial and IRC Tire programs. We hope that those activities can be realized so that the attention for safety on the road will grow among the people in this area” said Catharina Widjaja, the Director of Corporate Communication & Investor Relation PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk.
“We hope that the inauguration of RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal can contribute to the creation of the smart and highly achieving younger generation through the provision of supportive facilities and environment. This is very crucial as the future of our nation lies on the hands of Indonesia’s younger generation” added Catharina Widjaja during the inauguration ceremony of RPTRA Kembangan Gajah Tunggal.
